Sports Fields and Courts

The City of Fernie is pleased to maintain a variety of fields and courts to support our active community.  

The outdoor sports fields and courts operate from May to September.  During the season, sports fields and courts may be temporarily closed due to weather conditions or other issues.  For more information on seasonal operating dates and facility hours, please review the Operating Hours Policy.

Ball Diamonds

Fernie has four baseball diamonds, two in James White Park and two in Prentice Park.

Non-Commercial/Local: $11.22/hour
Commercial/Non-Local: $22.43/hour 

 

Soccer Fields 

The City of Fernie owns one large soccer area (three zones) at Max Turyk and books the soccer field at Fernie Secondary School/Prentice Park.  For a field layout at Max Turyk, please see the image below.  

Please note that booking the field at FSS requires additional approval time by School District 5.  The soccer field at FSS is maintained by SD5.

Tennis Courts

There are four tennis courts at James White Park.  These courts are available for impromptu use by the community, or may be reserved in advance.

Pickleball Courts

Pickleball Courts are located at Max Tuyrk.  These courts are available for impromptu use by the community, or may be reserved in advance.

 Beach Volleyball Courts

There are three beach volleyball courts located on the Fernie Aquatic Centre Grounds.  These courts are available for impromptu use by the community, or may be reserved in advance.
