The City of Fernie is in the process of modernizing its Building Bylaw. The proposed Bylaw clarifies the requirements for building permit applications, enhances efficiency of application submission, and modernizes fees based on a cost recovery framework.

In accordance with Animal Responsibility Bylaw No. 2436, dogs require a valid pet licence and must be on leash in all public areas. It is your responsibility as a pet owner to keep your dog in your control.

Under the City’s new Water Conservation and Regulation Bylaw, the City of Fernie automatically has water restrictions in effect from March 1 through October 31 each year.
