Events on City Property Require a Permit

If you are planning a Special Event that requires use of City facilities, including parks, sidewalks or streets, please submit a Special Events Application form to recreation@fernie.ca.

Event Application Deadlines

Event Type	Event Date	Application Deadline
Community Events (or larger scale events):  Festivals, concerts, parades, events open to the public May be booked up to three years in advance	May 1 - October 31 November 1 - April 30	December 1 of the previous year July 5 of the previous year
Private Event (or small scale): Weddings, private functions, events not open to the public May be booked up to one year in advance	Year Round	60 days prior to the event date
Annual Recurring Event Annual event of any type, with no significant  changes from the previous year May be booked up to three years in advance	Year Round	6 months prior to event date

A completed application must be submitted to secure an event date and facility.
