Budget 2025 – Public Input Period

The City of Fernie is continuing through the annual budget process, and we are now looking for your feedback.

The Draft 2025 Budget is guided by Council's Strategic Plan, the need to maintain and replace our infrastructure and assets, and priorities expressed by the community. The budget focuses on maintaining existing service levels, including planning for significant upgrades to critical City infrastructure, and maintaining investment in community arts, culture, and development.

After considering revenues and expenses, the draft budget projects a preliminary shortfall of $573,589. If approved, the budget would result in a 6.1% tax increase for residential properties in Fernie, or an additional $173 for the average home.

Find out what this means for you in the 2025 Budget at a Glance, and submit your feedback to the 2025 Budget Survey by February 23. Feedback will be presented to Council for consideration at the upcoming Council Meeting. You can join us on-line, or in person, February 25 at the Senior Citizen’s Drop-in Centre at 6:30pm.
