Notice of Public Hearing - Bylaw No. 2521 & 2522

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a public hearing has been scheduled for TUESDAY, July 9th, 2024, at 6:30 PM at the Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, located at 562 – 3rd Avenue, Fernie, BC, so that Council may hear representations from persons who believe their interest in property is affected by the proposed amendments to Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 2231 and Zoning Bylaw No. 1750.
Public hearings are open for all members of the public to attend in person or to participate electronically via a Zoom webinar link, posted to the City of Fernie website prior to the meeting. Public hearings may also be viewed via a Facebook live stream from the City of Fernie Facebook page. Please visit www.fernie.ca/meetings for more information.

Purpose: The City of Fernie is proposing to change the land use designation from Institutional to Historic Downtown for the eventual redevelopment of the site and rezone the subject property from P1 – Public Institutional to C1 – Retail Commercial.

A copy of the proposed amendments to Official Community Plan Bylaw No.2231 and Zoning Bylaw No. 1750, and other relevant documents, may be viewed on the “Latest News” page on the city’s website, www.fernie.ca, or in person at City Hall, 501 – 3rd Avenue.
Public participation in the public hearing will be accepted through written submission, in person participation or electronic participation. For information on how to participate in a hearing, please visit www.fernie.ca/meetings.
