Invasive and Noxious Weed Management Program

Over the coming weeks, a contractor will spraying invasive and noxious weeds in identified priority areas across the City.

Invasive and noxious weeds are all around the East Kootenays and pose a threat to wildlife, the environment, and recreational areas. Under the Province's Weed Control Act, the City is responsible for treating and preventing noxious and invasive weeds on public land within city limits.

All priority areas being treated this year will be signed 48 hours in advance following the regulations set out in the City’s Pesticide Use Control Bylaw.
