Property Information
Maps
The City of Fernie creates and updates a series of maps providing various information about public and private land within city limits, including:
- Zoning designations
- Civic addresses
- Legal addresses
- Local recreation trails
Browse through the available maps on the City website.
Services & Utilities
To view where utility services exist underground on a property, please submit a BC One Call request either online, or by phone: https://www.bc1c.ca/homeowner/
The BC One call service provides maps indicating where water, sewer, gas, hydro, and Telus connections are located. Shaw is not a part of the BC One call service - a separate request should be submitted to Shaw, here: https://digshaw.ca/Residential/
Property Lines
The most accurate way to determine the dimensions of a lot and siting of buildings is to obtain a legal land survey. A practicing BC land surveyor (BCLS) who is a member of the Association of BC Land Surveyors is the only person qualified to legally determine the location of property boundaries and perform legal surveys of private and Crown lands within BC. The City of Fernie does not offer this service.
BC Assessment
BC Assessment allows you to search by civic address to find the assessed value of a property, legal address, parcel ID (PID) and general property information such as number of bedrooms, lot size and square footage:
