Corporate Administration
The Corporate Administration Department is responsible for supporting the legislative matters and decisions of Council, and for providing the official secretariat for Council and all other statutory bodies within the corporation. This function includes agenda preparation, recording of official minutes of the business of the City of Fernie, administration and certification of bylaws, and the execution of all legal documentation on behalf of the City.
The department is the liaison between the City's contract legal service providers, Council and staff, and is responsible for providing Council with up to date legislative, statutory and procedural information in the increasingly complex legal environment in which local governments operate.
The Corporate Administration Services department is responsible for the following municipal services:
