Municipal Facilities Regulation and Fees Bylaw Adopted
January 10, 2024
On December 19, 2023, the Municipal Facilities and Parks User Regulation Bylaw 2484 was adopted by Council. The bylaw was developed by staff with input from user groups and facility users. Some highlights of the Bylaw include:
New Fees
As of January 1, 2024, the admission rates and facility rental rates have increased. This is the first rate increase since 2020. Council voted to use the BC Recreation Consumer Price Index Rates (CPI) to develop the 2024 facility rental rates. The admission rates at the Arena and Aquatic Centre will increase by 2% and the new rates will not affect existing permits, only new bookings.
Updated Admission and Pass Rates
Special Events Electrical Rate
If your event hooks into City power, there will be a $16.25 daily charge added to your rental permit.
Seniors Special Rate
Seniors 80 + can drop in to our recreation facilities for free.
Priority of Use/Annual Events
Annual Community Events can now book facilities up to three years in advance. This means if your event is open to the public, you can now book three years in advance and secure your preferred dates.
