Events begin at 10am with a flag raising ceremony and reconciliation walk with the Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡI ‘it First Nation and City of Fernie. The walk begins at City Hall, making its way through downtown, finishing at the Aquatic Centre Grounds.

 

Following the walk, head to the Aquatic Centre Main Stage for Yaq̓it ʔa·knuqⱡI ‘it traditional drumming and dancing, speeches and games.

 

In the afternoon, enjoy a line-up of local live music, activities for kids, and the Mini Mountain Market at the Aquatic Centre Grounds in celebration of Canada Day.

 

The Aquatic Centre is also offering a free public swim from 1-4pm.
