Non-Fruit Bearing Trees Planted in Historic Downtown

Last year City crews removed fruit trees in the Historic Downtown area following recommendations Wildsafe BC and local wildlife experts to reduce the number of animal attractants in Fernie.
Thanks to BC Hydro's Community Regreening Program grant, these fruit trees have now been replaced with 10 deciduous non-fruit bearing trees. You'll find the new trees on 7th Street between 1st Avenue & 2nd Avenue, and the intersection of 6th Street at 2nd Avenue.
