14th Biennial National Western Region Mine Rescue Competition

The City of Fernie is pleased to host the 14th Biennial National Western Region Mine Rescue Competition September 5, 6, &7th, 2019.

The public is invited to support the mine rescue emergency response teams by spectating at the competitions over the weekend. You can watch the simulated Underground tasks at the Fernie Curling Club Friday September 6th, and the Surface competition at the Fernie Aquatic Centre grounds Saturday September 7th.

Show your support for the competitors and enjoy food trucks, entertainment for children, tradeshow vendors and gain an insight into the intensity of emergency response scenarios and all it entails from the mine rescue teams.
