Noxious Weed Pull

On Saturday, September 30, City of Fernie Staff will be partnering with the Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club to conduct a noxious weed hand pull. The purpose of the event is to remove noxious weeds that have been idenitfied on City property. The event is open to the public.
10:00 am meet at the Fernie Aquatic Center
10:00-10:15 am Short briefing on how to identify noxious weeds- conducted by East Kootenay Invasive Species Council. (Held in the Aquatic Center meeting room)
10:15am -2:00 pm (approximately) groups will head off to pre-determined noxious weed areas located on City property, to hand pull noxious weeds.City Parks staff will be on hand with pickup trucks to haul the weeds collected.
Noon: A BBQ will be provided at noon, at the Aquatic Center, for all of those picking weeds. (sponsored by the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council)
