Waste Regulation Changes

Residents are reminded that changes to Waste Regulation Bylaw #1845 require that all residential waste for curbside collection be contained in rigid plastic or non-corrosive metal containers. Placing garbage for curbside collection without a rigid plastic or metal container is no longer permitted.
Garbage bags used to line waste containers, prevent loose debris from blowing in the wind when emptied, and to reduce food odors in the container, are acceptable. Waste regulations also require that garbage is stored securely until garbage day and only placed out for collection after 5:00am the day of collection. Changes to the waste regulations do not affect recycling collection.
