    Effective immediately, the City of Fernie has rescinded the Boil Water Notice issued May 30, 2026. Necessary water testing has confirmed that the water is safe to consume and use as normal.

    The Flood Watch for the Elk Valley remains in place. Fernie is expected to see rain and thunderstorms starting this evening with sustained rainfall over the next few days. River levels are expected to continue to rise with the rainfall and melting snowpack, with the potential to cause flooding conditions.
