Summer Construction Update

We’re halfway through summer and lots of construction is still underway.

Read on for a summary of what’s happening and where or click the links to see individual project details:

  • Mountview Dike and Coal Creek Bin Wall: The Coal Creek section of the TransCanada Trail is closed from Cokato Rd. to Sharpe’s Field. There are temporary trail closures in Dogwood Park – you can still access Dogwood Park Boat Launch while construction is underway. This section will be under construction July through September. 
  • Cedar Ave and Canyon Trail Road Rehabilitation: Cedar Ave is closed to vehicle traffic between Bossio Rd. and Highway 3. The full road closure is planned for July 24-August 1 and August 5-8. Vehicle traffic will be detoured through West Fernie and along Burma Road. This project is anticipated to be completed by the end of August.
  • 692 3rd Ave. Redevelopment Project: Construction and road closures are still ongoing. More information will be available as the project progresses. 
  • Whitetail Dr. Haul Route: The developers have delayed the haul route and potential road closures. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks. 
  • Montane Parkway has been paved by the developers.
